Assign 2–100 participants to teams or pairs for 2–10 rounds, with captains, together/apart rules and a repeated-partner report. Names stay in your browser.
For entries 1–4, a complete pair example is: round 1 — 1+2 and 3+4; round 2 — 1+3 and 2+4; round 3 — 1+4 and 2+3. Everyone appears once in each round and every partnership is different.
The search balances team sizes (difference at most one), combines together groups, enforces apart/captain rules and scores repeated meetings. Candidate order uses Web Crypto randomness. This does not make all valid schedules equally likely, and random groups do not guarantee equal skill.
A proved minimum is marked only when a lower bound is reached or the search is exhaustive. Larger cases use a bounded search (up to 250,000 nodes / about 1.8 seconds) and may find a good plan without proving it optimal. If the search limit is reached without a plan, that does not prove impossibility. Hard rules are never silently relaxed.
In strict mode a pair cannot meet twice, including people required to stay together. For three people in four pair rounds, at least one partnership must repeat: only three different pairs exist. Change the rules or turn off strict mode to see a plan with a repeat report.
CSV contains every entry in every round, team numbers and captain markers. Use Tab and Enter/Space for controls. Escape closes projector mode; printing includes every round. A participant’s number always refers to their input row.

Secret Santa: assign one gift recipient to everyone
The team generator places each participant in exactly one team in each round. Team sizes differ by at most one; identical names are separate numbered entries. You can set captains and hard together/apart groups.
The search tries to reduce repeated meetings; strict mode requires new partners. Conflicts and search limits are explained instead of silently breaking rules. Equal team skill and uniform sampling of all valid schedules are not guaranteed.
Enter one name per line or use numbers only. Choose a team count or pairs and 2–10 rounds. Optionally set captain and together/apart entry numbers. Build the schedule, inspect repeat counts, then copy, print or download all rounds in one CSV.
